Some manuscript collections have been catalogued in detail, giving descriptions of each individual item or bundle. These descriptions are available as part of the Manuscripts Online Catalogue . Not every collection has been catalogued to item level. The following health-related catalogues are available at item level on the Manuscripts Online Catalogue: You will also be able to conduct a subject search of descriptions contained within the catalogue, by putting a search term in the 'Term' box of the standard Advanced Search. For example you could retrieve every document with the subject index term 'inoculation', whether inoculation was mentioned explicitly in the document/description or not. Typescript catalogues of manuscript and archivecollections are available in the Reading Room at King's Meadow Campus for most of the principal collections. Online versions of our catalogues of health-related collections are growing all the time. Material borrowed from other library authorities should be returned complete, and within the loan period specified. Some of our manuscripts catalogues can be searched online alongside catalogues from other archive institutions. Please note that the catalogues were submitted at the time of the project, and the version in our own Manuscripts Online Cataloguemay be more up to date. Reference copies of each title are available to browse at Radford-Lenton Library. Is there someone I can talk to? Yes, if NPALS was chosen as the collection point and the group has been notified that the set is ready. Can I collect from any library? Any sets or part sets outstanding 14 days after the due date will be charged a daily overdue fee of 50p per title, in the 14 days following this. Until notified, lost or missing copies will be identified as outstanding loans. Any lost or missing parts should be replaced by the group with an identical edition in good condition.

NPALS is primarily available to groups based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and Derby City. Wrench Collection (Wr-Wre),including the papers of Edward M. Wrench (1833-1912), surgeon, of Baslow, Derbyshire ( catalogue record ).Borrowers must take care of all items borrowed and items must be returned in the same condition in which they were borrowed, any pencil markings should be removed carefully. Searches can also be narrowed down by date. Type your required search term into 'AnyText', and also type the exact year, or a range of years, into the 'Date' field. You can even combine this with a 'Document Reference' search to target the search still further. The award winning Nottingham Performing Arts Library Service (NPALS) lends multiple copies of plays, vocal scores and orchestral sets to organisations across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derby City as well as directly to groups around the UK. The collection comprises over 24,000 drama copies, 85,000 Vocal scores and 1,300 orchestral sets. Please note that some collections have had extensive additional cataloguing undertaken through externally funded projects, and that in these cases the original typescript lists have now been very considerably enhanced. In all cases it is advisable to consult the upgraded versions in the Manuscripts Online Catalogue . A list of possible relevant subject terms is provided here for guidance purposes. The terms specified are simply a selection, and relate predominantly to general health matters. If a term does not appear in the list, this does not mean that it will not appear in the online catalogue.
